Well, it's high time I posted SOMETHING! I mean, it's been about three years now, and I have THREE more grandchildren then I did then.
What's my excuse? Hmmm, well - the best one is that I forgot my password (true!) and finally retrieved it through much trouble - had changed email server AND addresses, so hopefully this will not happen again, anytime soon! :)
This will be a SHORT post, as it is already 2:46am, and I am WAY past my bedtime.
I recently spent nearly three weeks in Maryland with Shanna and family - had a wonderful time! Enjoyed helping get boxes unpacked, shelf paper in, and stuff arranged. Loved spending time with the boys (even though Caleb was awake at 5:30am, 4:30 Houston time!!) Jonathan would end up in bed with me at some point during night, and usually up by 6:30am - starting the day! It was SO MUCH FUN!
Got to be there on Caleb's birthday, go to the pumpkin patch, and enjoy some cooler weather!! (However, there are honkin' mosquitoes in MD, surprise!!)
The last night, while getting Caleb to sleep, I was rocking him and singing "Jesus in the morning, Jesus at the noontime..." and he was sucking his thumb, while petting my cheeks, nose, ear with his free hand - so sweet...I just started bawling, knowing I was leaving the next day and wouldn't see the boys for nearly 3 months.
Now I'm back at the home front! Life is very busy!! Got to keep granddaughter here Tuesday because Erin was sick - enjoyed being there and helping!! :)
Brit started ripping out the bathroom two days after I got home - leaking pipes finally got the remodel started! It's a MESS!! Moving everything out and into various closets-- and the DUST! YUK! And the inconvience! YUK! He is doing it mostly by himself, which means it will take l-o-n-g-e-r...past Christmas and company. OH JOY!! :)
OK, it's late, I've got to get to bed. I have decided to PARTY all month long in celebration of my birthday!
nighty night!!

Yikes Ike!
Hurricane Ike - what an experience! Shanna, Michael and Jonathan had driven in before the hurricane, b/c Michael was to lead music at a church in Houston. Shane was also here to see Shanna and family. SO...Sharla, Brit and I had some company during Ike! It was really scary - howling winds, rain, limbs & branches flying - trees bending...we lost two big trees, and one leaning on a power line. Thankfully, we were all ok, but lost power for about two weeks. Here are a few pics. By the way, Michael did lead the music at the church, without power, and the church voted him in that night! :)

Peculiar, Missouri August 16th-23rd
For many years, I have gone to see my old highschool friend, Lydia Tompkins, in Kansas City. I didn't get to go last summer, b/c I had a new grandson I hated to leave!
I had a fabulous time - Lydia kept me busy from the get-go...got milk from a friend's dairy, had dinner with friends, golfed,
I'm still working on more photo shows, but I did get one made - visit my photo shows on right to see!
Rockport or Bust!
Linda & Sharla at Rockport Beach
.

My friend Linda (I've known her since I was 15 in high school days - her father, Ed Wigger, was my pastor,) invited Sharla and I to go spend a mini vacation in Rockport at a friend's house on canal leading to gulf - it was fabulous! Our favorite saying when we wanted to eat something b-a-d was..."But we're on vacation!" Linda always had a route 44 Diet Coke in her hand...

Cajun Visit

Sunday, August 3rd, we got home from Rockport vacation in time to get ready for our "Cajun Visit" - my bro Jeff & wife Joyce - niece Katie, Lyndi & her beau, Paul - and Wiley from Ft. Worth! We took our big grill over to mom & dad's in Sharla's truck - and the heaven's opened and flooded right after we arrived! We were soaked going in and out to grill burgers & ribs! We also celebrated Jeff's 51st birthday!
